How to Clean Your Basement and Make Room for More Efficiency
Cleaning Tips
It’s that time of year again – the leaves are changing, the air is getting colder, and the basement is full of clutter. It seems like every year we promise ourselves that we will clean it out, but somehow never quite get around to it. This year, let’s make a change! We will give you tips from lanham home cleaners on how to clean your basement quickly and efficiently so you can make room for more storage or even a new workspace!
The first thing you need to do is gather all of the supplies you will need. This includes a broom, dustpan, vacuum cleaner, trash bags, and any cleaning solutions you prefer. Once you have everything gathered, it’s time to start!
Start by sweeping the floor to get rid of any dirt or debris that has accumulated over time. Be sure to get into all of the corners and crevices so that no dust is left behind. Once the floor is clean, move on to vacuuming. This will help remove any remaining dirt as well as any cobwebs that may have formed in the corners.
Once the floors are clean, it’s time to tackle the shelves and surfaces. Start by dusting everything off with a microfiber cloth. Pay special attention to any electronics that may be on the shelves, as dust can build up and cause them to overheat. Once everything is dusted, use a damp cloth to wipe down any surfaces that are dirty or sticky.
Now that the main area is clean, it’s time to focus on the details. Take a look at all of the items in your basement and decide what needs to be thrown away, donated, or stored elsewhere. This is also a good time to organize things so you can easily find what you need when you need it.
Once everything is sorted, it’s time to put everything back in its place. Be sure to label storage containers so you know exactly what is inside of them. And that’s it! You’ve now cleaned out your basement and created more space for whatever you need.
